Chinchilla's left eye turned a blue/silver color with no visable surface infection.

Sounds like it got some dusting in it's eye that volcanic dust they use for baths it will eventually go away my chinchilla had the same thing vet told me only thing to do is take a cotton Ball with some warm water and put over eye twice a day..Good luck
soak the eye for 20 seconds in BBQ sauce (Hickory-smoke)
sounds like it got something in it probably from the sand bathes.i would gentles wash with a cotton ball and luke warm water.get the plain eye wash water with nothing added..tap water has chorline (bleach) which could agitate it.if it persists take to a vet it could have injured it..have male and female chi's playful thing aren't they.mine are in a 6foot by 4 foot cage with 6 different landings they love to tease my Sheppard.jumping around in their cage.
