I want to get a pet, but I cant get a cat or dog. I dont want a reptile, and cant afford a horse. So I thought about getting a small furry animal. I was considering a ginea pig, but then I remember the fun I had in 4rth grade when we had a chinchilla as a class pet. So I figured I might get one=)
But I'd probably have to keep him in my room, and being the teenager I am I listen to loud music ALOT. Will this be a problem for the chin./ginea pig? And what are basic things I need to know for the chin? I'm running out of pet ideas=(
thanx soo much

Chinchillas are a hit or miss. They either can become really fun and amusing pets, or they are boring and sometimes evil. They're phsyically delicate (there ribs can break if you pick them up wrong) and need a lot of attention to be friendly. If you have the time, and patience to deal with one, then ya.
Guinea pigs are really sweet but shy at first. Usually they are easier to make tame and nice, but it still takes a long time to get them outta their shells and into affectionate moods.
If you want small animals you should consider gerbils or rats. Both very friendly, gerbils are a riot and so funny but loud (they scratch at the cage a lot). they also like to pile their bedding everywhere.
Rats are pretty much the best small animal pet you could want. very friendly, smart, trainable, and cute to boot. they still are somewhat shy at first and require attention from you, but open up fast and if you give them stuff to do in their cage or get more than one they are ok to be left alone every once in a while without reverting to evil animals. if you want something thats going to be interactive and gentle and really fun- look into them.
i have a chinchilla. the first year was fun. but now she is SO much work and she flings food all over my room. but anyway music is fine. not really loud though because they can hear about 10 times louder than we can so just be carful.
Um, go ahead the chinchilla wouldn't minf. But try to give the chinchilla some attention

Chinchillas are great pets. Had three for a little while. Loud noises bother them so music might be a problem. In addition, just like all rodents, they go to the bathroom a lot and unless you clean constantly, your room will begin to have a bit of an unpleasant odor to it. The chinchilla itself is very clean. They take dust baths all the time (which is hysterical to watch) and are usually very friendly once they get to know you. Mine used to come out of its cage and sit on my shoulder while I read a book (it also liked to chew on the book while I read it). All in all, as long as you are willing to give them attention and keep the cage clean, they can be really nice pets.
Chinchillas are a really cool pet to have.I do have a chinchilla and they are especially good for people that have really bad allergies to animals with fur. Chinchillas are also really soft animals. The only not so good thing about them is that they are nocturnal. Meaning they are up at night and sleep through some of the day. But you can train them to stay up during the day by playing with them, and to sleep at night. If you do get a chinchilla they like alot of wood, and you can buy it at the pet store. Another cool thing that chinchillas do is, they take dust baths. It is really cool to watch. They roll around in the dust and do all sorts of cool things. You can also potty train your chinchilla. You really should buy a chinchilla. Hope I helped.
Have you gave any thinking on a fish or fish tank?Fish can be fun to watch and no one has to water them when you are gone from home /just put a food blook in for your fish and they are feed for 2 or 3 days if you cant be home . THEY dont leave hair/they dont need to go for a walk . Good Luck_-And fish dont mind LOUD MUSIC.
I have 2, Chip and Dale. They rock and they live a long time, and thy don't make alot of noise. In my eyes the perfect pet.
