I have a 2 year old little chinchilla named gizzy. Well the last few nights he has been going APE on me! Loud squeeling noises and just plain NOT HIS USUAL SWEET SELF! Come to find out we have a few little field mice- and we caught 6 in traps. And sealed up the spots they were coming in at. Is this what was cuasing his behavior? Was this like a war cry or fear? My poor little Gizzy

Why do we care? your mom has fleas and so does your chinchilla. oh and cuasing is spelled cAUsing.
Chinchillas are very terrtiorial, so the mice may have caused him to go crazy. He can also be getting bored. I use to give mine a small cardbord box at night filled with hay, cholla wood(they LOVE to eat it) and other chinchilla treats, just to keep them busy! The noise could be him calling for another chinchilla too, maybe he needs a chinchilla girl friend?
Maybe he was excited to see possible friends! Maybe he is lonely and is mad at you for killing his friends. ?? Just a thought. You know all those animals in Charlottes' Web talked to each other.
