do dolphins eat sea weed?

Answers:
They're strictly carnivores.
no way dolphins don't eat sea weed.
no,they eat fish only
no
There are so many different type dolphin I was not sure what one you wanted, so I picked the Bottle nosed dolphin

In the wild, they feeds on squid, shrimp, eels, and a wide variety of fishes. In some waters, bottlenoses habitually follow shrimp boats to consume what the shrimpers discard or miss. They often hunt as a team, herding small fishes such as menhaden ahead of them and picking off the stragglers. They have been observed to chase fish onto mudflats, then slide out of the water to seize their prey.

In in the event you did not want this one I have posted a link to a site that will list several for you,

I do hope this was in some way helpful to you,

Do dogs have sex with cats? And why can't they make kittuppies or puppittens?

Answers:
It can happen that dogs and cats have sex (my grandma had a rather small dog once and a larger cat and the dog decided he liked how the cat looked.this was an event I witnessed, so I know it CAN happen).

As for making "kittuppies" or "puppittens"--that doesn't happen because dogs and cats have different number of chromosomes and therefore cannot breed with one another. One of the most common examples of "mixing" is with horses and donkeys, which can mate to make mules, which still are infertile because of the mixture of different species.
no they dont, its unnatural.
NO EEEEWWWW !
lol
Because they are different species it's genetically impossible for that to happen.
no.they are genetically different incompatible species and cannot mate
Do you have sex with your dog? I hope not! It is out of the species.
Cute names but No, it doesn't work that way. It is genetically impossible. Just ask a Horcow or a Cowhor LOL
they can and it would be cool never seen it but if it does happened let me know if a horse and a donkey can and a cow and a bull so can a cat and dog
I don't know if dogs and cats have sex,

but for sure, your parents are cousins, and they have sex!
they might try but no they dont it would not be right to breed them
Hmmmmm. like me saying do u have sex with your pet gerbil!!
There is a cartoon called 'Cat-dog' on the television.

It's hilarious. I know lots of 'adults' who watch it regularly!

Shows what a cat-dog would look like and the problems it might encounter! lol
THAT IS NATURE.
It's called GENETICS.plus the yuck factor alone.ewww
Are you kidding me? Although kittuppies/puppittens is pretty funny!!
Hi 6th, LOL You are a piece of art.LOL.. You cannot breed a cat and a dog together. They are completely different in genes and everything. You really made my day.Thank you for the laugh.

Clowmy
in the real world thats not natural.and it just doesnt work that way!
Genetics. Their DNA isn't similar enough. Dogs and wolves can, coyotes and wolves can, ect. But dogs and cats can't. That doesn't stop an overly excited male dog, though. He'll mount anything he can reach.

do dogs get 'charley horse' type cramps?

i have a 10-month old sheltie-border collie cross. she occassionally limps on a back leg for no apparent reason. we didn't notice an injury take place. sometimes she'll stand up and whine and not use that leg. could it be a cramp or past injury creep up or could it be something more serious. there don't seem to be any other symptoms.
Answers:
Border Collies are prone to hip dysplasia.I'm not saying that that is what's wrong, just sayin it would really make me wonder if it is.get your dog to a vet now.

Below are some sites with info on hip dysplasia:

http://www.spinone.com/hipdysplasia.htm.
http://www.thepetcenter.com/xra/hd.html.

The following link is to a vitamin for doggy joints and from what I've read it's wonderful.

http://www.nuvet.com/nujointplus.asp.
It could be a joint problem or a bone spur. You should have a vet take a look at it.
get him checked out. something might be wrong.
Does this always happen to the same leg? If not and happens to differant legs it is called wondering lameness and can be caused from growth spurts or growing pains and seeing the age of your dog this is very possible. My Akita would do this in the hind legs as well and she grew out of it. She also would play hard and go into these spins like a bull and I think sometimes she would pull or strain a muscle. I rescued her cause she lived her first 4 months in a cage and I believe she was under developed and weak. I use to put on roller blades and have her go w/me and make her do an extended jog to strengthen her w/o exerting her. This help her out alot. But its best to have a vet take a look for she might have a pinched nerve.bone spur.inadequate diet causing deficiency or an old injury and might need muscle relaxers. Its always better to be safe since this may cause long term problems like arthritis or perminent nerve damage. An untreated nerve injury can not be repaired. Also it could be a hip dysplasia and she lays the same way all the time and then she hurts. Good luck.

Do dogs and cats see in color or just in shades like black & white??

Answers:
I'm pretty sure it's black and white but they are much smarter and have other way better senses then us humans. Dogs have remarkable hearing, and cats see much better in the dark. Isn't that amazing?
Hi,,, black and white,,,,, is what i have read.

good luck
They see as we do but in black %26 white not color. Also, their depth perception is probably better then ours.
not sure about cats but i believe dogs see only in b/w
They can distinguish most colors.
no dogs can see very bright colors of pink and cats can too
Dogs have fewer of the cones and rods, the parts of our eyes that allow us to see colors, so it's believed that they may be "colorblind" just like people who can't distinguish colors very well but still see them.

Cats have more cones and rods than dogs, and they have done some studies by offering cats different colored bowls and only one with food in it, etc., that show cats can tell the difference between colors, but they really don't care much.
This of course has been debated! I feel they do. As some dogs who were taught colors, And you could mix every thing up and you could tell them the color you wanted and they went to get it!
Dogs see only in black and white, cats can see shades of colors, not as well as we can.
I know that cats can distinguish some colors.Like some greens, purples and probably ultraviolet colors.I'm sure it's the same for dogs also.

Do dogs and cats have souls?

My dog has some very human qualities such as being extremely spoiled and stubborn. I am just curious as to what you think.
Answers:
Any creature that their only reason for living is to protect and or comfort you, have souls They are animal souls and therefore incabable of lying or deceit. Unlike their human companions they do not jeopardize their souls, so there is a special place for them in heaven.
i think Cats especially do dogs do too
yea, duh.
i think they do!
I think they do.
It's vain to think we are the only beings with a soul.
I don't believe so.
dogs are just like humans..of course they have souls!! my dog has feelings about certain things we do.we know how hes feeling by the way he acts.also, one time one of my dogs got runovered and died, his brother was howling and crying..it was so0o0 sad!!
They have to have souls.have they ever given you one of those sooo human looks like; I am in pain or I am happy. Dogs each have their own personalities just like people. They have to have a soul because I want to come back as one in my next life.Like you said, they are spoiled. at least mine are too!
Not according to Christians.
Which is another reason I'm an atheist.
no and you will burn for that hell fire just kidding
ask them!
yes I do and I one day hope to be reunited with all of my favorite friends, my dogs and cats!
I've often told my husband that our male poodle Snowball who has lived with us since November of 2005 at the age of 3 months isn't like a dog to me, he acts like a little boy. I've only heard him bark at the left next door neighbor (she's a witch). To us he makes noises, kind of like Snoopy would make. A loud yawning/complaint like noise when we're ignoring him (according to him) and a grumble noise when he doesn't get his way. Our newer dog who is a female poodle is more like a dog to me, she barks to get our attention.
I think it is somewhat ludacris to think that only human beings have souls - - or to think that only animals who act like humans (as you said your dog does) have a soul. Humans are the only creatures who commit genocide, drop bombs, wage war etc. Is this the criteria for having a soul?

I think every living thing has a soul.
Well Tracy, I for one don't believe in souls, but you said it, your dog has some "human" qualities, that may be because life is one and we all share so many things in common, like genes, for example. millions of years of evolution.. Monkeys, Dolphins, to name a few, also show "human" qualities don't they? So, just try to love every creature, be nice to them, and you'll see how beautiful ALL life can be. Even plants! Sometimes they react to your actions, like when you water them, speak to them (that's because you're giving them extra carbon dioxide, which is their food! although that's a lot less poetic, sorry)

You don't really have to believe in souls and things like that, but it's fine if you do.

Things are beautiful and perfect just as they are. Enjoy!
Yes because they bring so much joy into our lives.
no, though they do have feelings.
Some people BELIEVE no but it isn't a direct answer. it depends on what that person BELIEVES in. i BELIEVE that animals have souls.
Animals have a spirit of life and sometimes very human qualities, but do not have a soul in the sense of life after death. I do believe that God certainly has the power and authority to breath life back into an animal and believe that I may possibly see my pets again some day in heaven. In the meantime, they sleep.

Do dogs and cats have E.S.P.?

On two occasions I have been in my bedrom when my dog has acted very strangely. The first time I was sitting on the edge of the bed, the dog came in the room and started to growl and bark. She was staring straight past me at the wall. The curtains were closed so it could not have been a bird or squirell outside the window. The hair on the back of her neck was up as if in attack mode and she would not acknowledge me when I tried to calm her down. This went on for about a minute. The second time was at about 11 at night and she stared to pace, and growl and bark and once again she would not acknowledge me. And this time it went on for about 5 minutes. Has anyone ever had something like this happen to them.? Just curious to hear some feedback.
Answers:
well, how do you correlate this with ESP?
My dog barks in the middle of the night and it scares the crap out of me because he must be hearing someone outside! haha. but i have learned he can hear the slightest of things, maybe a car door slam down the street.

BUT. i must say I think my old dog sensed the 1994 bad earthquakes back in northern cali. She started running around and underneath things, whining. and then like a minute later the big earthquakes.

I have heard that dogs can sense that. and either she did or it was coincidence
Dogs have extreamly good hearing. She probably just heard somethng that you couldn't. However it's also possible that your dog has a mental disorder. If this keeps happening then maybe call a vet for a recomendation.
i kinda have - sometimes my dog acts really strange and starts growling and staring out the window and there's nothign there. i don't know. but i have also heard animals can sense when natural disasters are about to happen.
Like humans all animals have the penitential of such feats in theory.
im not sure about dogs but i believe cats do, my cat has been scared to come inside ever since we moved house and i know that it is haunted

Do Deer lose their antlers every year?

Answers:
Male white-tailed deer grow and shed their antlers every year. Antlers are composed of true bone. Antler growth begins in late March or early April and the growing bone is covered by skin with numerous blood vessels (velvet). In late summer and early fall, testosterone levels increase. This hormone elevation results in the antlers hardening and the buck rubs off the drying velvet. When testosterone levels begin to drop, antlers start to shed beginning in mid January. Deer that are in the best physical condition will lose their antlers later in the winter.
no
yes, unless they are stuffed and mounted
YEP
after someone shoots its maybe
Yep. deer shed their horns once a year and regrow them in about 2-3 weeks. This usually takes place in the summer time.
Yes. White-tailed deer, mule deer, elk, moose..the males of these species all grow antlers and shed them annually. The following year's growth is typically larger than the shedded antlers.
just the males
Yes, the males have them and each winter, they drop and spring they re-grow them and add length to a branch of the rack or begin to grow a new branch.
THEY SURE DO-ANNUALLY
To be sure you have the answer you need, be more specific about the species you are thinking of. Lot's of critters are sometimes called "deer" depending on where you live.

Be aware of the difference between antlers and horns.
yes they shed thier antlers every year and regrow them they fall off in late december re grow in early april unless they have been injured or something they may not lose them
Yes, unless they have been castrated. In that case their antlers just keep growing little spikes, looks like a tumble weed on their head.

do crickets fly?

Answers:
It depends on the species. Adult crickets do in fact have wings. They are the thinner than paper, and tucked under the hard covering that they use to chirp with.

The species you get from pet shops to feed lizards are Acheta domesticus (pictures at http://buzz.ifas.ufl.edu/487a.htm. ). They only jump.

If you throw an adult Gryllus bimaculatus (a larger, black-coloured cricket; pictures at http://www.biology.tohoku.ac.jp/lab-www/. ) like you would pass a ball to someone, it may open up its wings and fly a short distance. But not all of them do it.

If you've ever handled a cricket, you'll know their wings come off very easily. The males fight for the best singing spot to get mates.

No, they hop around like grasshoppers.
Nope. They jump REALLY high.
No
I feed my lizzards crickets and never have seen that before..they do jump very far though
no
No. The wings that they do have , they use to chirp
Crickets like grasshoppers have paper-thin wings that they can use to aid in transportation but they cannot fly for a specific amount of time.

Do crayfish have to have another crayfish with them?

I recently got a crayfich and I need info on them.
Answers:
DO NOT GIVE ANOTHER ONE!! i had a lot of crawfish at the same time and they ate one of their own kind! do not do it! crawfish are crazy!

Though i did have a crawfish named Libby. i miss her A LOT. one time i had about 20 sumthin crawfish at the same time! their fun 2 watch butcha gotta know how to care for them.
You do not NEED another crayfish with your current one, but it is a fact that the usually the more company a pet has, the stonger its will to love. Sometimes animals will not eat if they are lonely. I would get another crayfish instead of just having on, but you don't have to.
He won't die, but you imagine how you feel alone in a tank.but i bet you would feel better if you at least had a buddie , right
I had a crayfish once - I read that they are VERY territorial and are better off alone unless you have alot of room.

Thats a link to LiveAquaria.com - it's very informative (not necessarily towards your specific species unfortunately.). Good luck!

do cows fart?

Answers:
well, not only the cows fart but also affect the atmosphere and thus the Ozone hole!!

Details aside, Cows methane does present a definite threat to the biota. It's believed 18% of the greenhouse effect is caused by methane, putting it second on the list of offending gases behind carbon dioxide. Methane breaks down in the atmosphere to form carbon dioxide, ozone, and water, all of which absorb heat. The temperature of the atmosphere rises, the ice caps melt, and next thing you know you're pumping the Atlantic Ocean out of your basement!!
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm anythings possible need i say more um no mmmk
Cows are some of the best farters in the animal world. They are responsible for most of the Methane gas in the environment today.
I don't know the actual number or amount of farts they produce, but it's pretty impressive.
Yes, quite a lot. Being ruminants, they produce a tremendous amount of methane gas. In some primitive villages, cow dung is collected into a vat and the resulting gas is used to power a generator to give the villagers some electricity.
yeah, and what you do is that you stand behind it and when it farts light a match..away from the cow as not to hurt it.
yes they do!

Do cows die if they fall over?

Answers:
they crack a few ribs probably, the best cow fact i heard is that:

if you light a cows fart, they explode from all of the methane in their two stomachs'

instant steak - rare!!
no.
apparently they cant get up so maybe they do if they arent rescued?
possibly.. but i've seen cows get up.. and i've seen cows need help up.. but if their sick.. then yeah they'll probably die..
Not necessarily but it can cause them internal damage due to the weight and delicate internal system.

Don't push over cows when your drunk kids, it's not big or clever.
Only if they land on a stake and it severs a few arteries!
No--but it is fun to tip them when they are sleeping.
No but they fall over if they die
they will not die because the cows skin is very rough
over a cliff then yes they would die lol x
Depends what made them fall over. I saw one fall into a canal, couldn't get out, and had to be hoisted by the Fire Brigade. It took half a day to get the poor beastie out of the water!
Then it ran off right as rain!
they lie down to sleep, they don't sleep standing up. You figure out if cow tipping is real or just a story made up by city kids. Horses on the other hand..
If they're standing on the edge of a cliff they do.
not sure

horses can %26 i think sheep can if they are on their backs cos they can't get up again.

not thought about it too much..cows have scary eyes..
no they would not
i dont think so:D
no idea
Research tells me you should get out more !! Why not take a stroll in the country and go up to one and ask it point blank?
no cows are very tough
i doubt that they would, but i hav no idea coz i hate cows - they stink
they die then fall over

do cottontail bunny rabbits make good pets when they are fully grown or are they wild and hard to handle?

i have two cottontail bunny rabbits, they are about a month or so old. they are getting a little wild and rambuncious and one is not even getting used to hands yet. when will this phase go away? do they get calmer and easer to handle as they grow older? i really want to keep these two as pets but if they are going to be this wild then i may have to let them go. do you have a cottontail rabbit? how does yours act?
Answers:
they are always wild and active when they are young. they will grow out of this phase with time. just handle them alot so they can get used to it, they eventually will. but as long as you let them run and care for them properly, they will be very good pets. and i have a netherland dwarf rabbit, i love him!! (and he's very laid back and likes to run around the house)
it depends if you have them trained.
Try this site: http://exoticpets.about.com/cs/rabbits/a.

Rabbits as a whole don't like being held, and this site may help give you some insight.
I saw two yesterday, and they were just outside running loose in the yard. Just like puppies, or something. They were having the best time, and were not afraid or spooky. Maybe yours need to have somewhere to run around and play free. They don't go far.
Personally teryaki and medium coals and slow speed on the rotisserie..calms them down the best Ive found..
Wild cottontail rabbits DO NOT make good pets at all. Continuing to handle them will kill them, by adding more stress to their already stressful personality. They will not get easier to handle, and they will never get used to you. Do them a favor and release them back into the wild where they belong before it is too late. I care for over 100 cottontail rabbits a year.

If they are already a month old, then they are old enough to be on their own. Cottontail rabbits leave the nest early in life and the mother stops caring for them at a very young age (younger than we would expect).

Please do what is in the best interest of the babies, and release them immediately. When you wake up one morning and they are both dead, you will be the only one to blame (and I'm not trying to be mean here). I deal with this all the time from the public, from people that are not educated/trained to handle wild animals. Plus, in many areas of the states, it is illegal to care for wildlife unless you have a special permit.

If you would like a rabbit, get a domestic one and leave the wildlife out where they belong.
I agree with some of the things that ctwitch24 states. There are so many domesticated rabbits available, even in shelters, that no one needs to take them from the wild. Do them a favor and let them go back where they are free. It is illegal to breed them with domesticated ones if you should choose to do so later. Wild rabbits have characteristics that have been bred out of domesticated rabbits and that is why the domestic ones are such great pets. Gotta watch the back claws on all of them though.
i have one.he's name is stew(short for rabbit stew.hehe) .he's gray and small.i don't know what's his breed.he is always curious, running around the room but he gets comfy at my bed sometimes.he's not afraid to be handled..
No they don't get calmer and depending on where you live it may be illegal for you to be keeping them without a wildlife rehab permit. You won't be able to keep them.

Do cockroaches hibernate?

Answers:
no
who cares
No, they don't live that long anyway.
The ones in my kitchen do.
no
gosh, I hope not!
Yes for I am the level three buddah neighbor to the lord of cockroaches king of Sian.
They scavenge anything they can get and hide where us humans can't find them and make many babies and come out in full force.
I think they only know how to multiply
http://www.bio.umass.edu/biology/kunkel/.
The wild cockroaches in the northern USA do hibernate. They go into a suspended state of development in late fall and then they must go through a dormancy phase in the winter before they will resume development in the spring. If you keep them in a warm environment during the winter they will not develop any further and remain in a suspended state for more than a year. This phenomenon has not been published on as far as I know. The species I know this about through my unpublished research are Parcoblatta pensylvanicus and Parcoblatta virginica. It would be interesting to know if these species go through this hibernation in the southern reaches of their range where a hard winter is not experienced.
Only computers hibernate

Nope. And they can live for about a week without their heads-after that, they die of thirst. Cockroaches are basically undeatable without Raid.

Do chinchillas have natural smell like a ferret????

Do they stink or are they good pets as I was thinking of getting one. Also any other info about them would be nice too
Answers:
You need to read up on them. They are very unique creatures! They originated from the Andes Mountains in Chili.

Very, very low odor, or no odor, not smelly like ferrets. We got our chinchilla when he was 8 months old. He's very friendly, loves to sit on our shoulders, and very curious!

Not recommended for households with small children, though. They need a large cage, and need to be let out to run around for a few hours each day.

They are very clean, need dust baths to keep their fur clean. Read up online or go to a Pet Store that carries them, and get more information.
They have have very low odor, but you must change their cage every 3-4 days. I love my chi, but they are a lot of work, and do not tame easily. I would avoid getting them as a pet. Try your local paper, you'll find lots of rabbits, hamsters, etc, that are free to a good home.
no.they are very clean and ours gold female and a black and Grey male they are in a 5 tiered cage 6 foot tall 4 wide..they love it as they do need room to run.me and my fiancee play with them on a regular basis even our puppy German Shepard has to get in the action..they are costly to purchase..they are night creatures..but will play during daytime if they get used to you.there favorite treats are raisins, and weeds, flowers dried and all kinds of hay..they love sticks with bark..good luck i think you would enjoy a chi

Do chinchillas and cats get along?

I'm looking after a friend's chinchilla for a little while, but was planning on getting a cat. Was just wondering if the two would get along or if I was going to see some problems sometime down the road.
Answers:
It really does depend on the cat. I have two chinchillas and I found that my cat is too predatory, so I keep her separated from them. However, I have had success with the cats that I raised from the kitten stage. These cats played with the chinchillas as kittens. As these kittens grew up, they became less enamored by the chins and pretty much pay them no mind.

In my opinion, your best bet is to start with a kitten, so that he or she can be brought up with the chinchilla. This way the predatory instincts toward the chin are less likely to develop.
yeah cats think they're delicious
id say not? keep ya puss puss away from the chin chin or your puss will have it for din din
Well, I guess it all depends on the feline. Some felines would probably consider the chinchilla to be a nuisance. While, other cats could care less.
prob not
The cat may get indigestion.
No. They most likely would not. because chinchillas are essentially related to "rodents", cats have a tendancy to become aggresive and stalk them. But you should be fine unless you decide to put your cat in the cage or let th chinchilla run wild. Both of these I do not reccomend.
the cat will eat the chinchilla. or the other way around :) so i sugest keep then seperated.
no. If a cat touches a chin and softly grips, the chin's fur will release and eventually can go bald. Also if theres a cat around he may become stressed and start biting himself.
Since you are only keeping the chinchilla for awhile the simple solution would be to place the chinchilla in a room with a closed door and don't let the cat in. Also, be sure your cat is up to date on all of its shots and wash your hands after playing with the cat and before feeding or playing with the chinchilla.
I donno, probably depends on the animals and their environment. I had an ex that had both cats and chins, and they were fine.

Do Chickens urinate through their skin?

Answers:
birds "urinate" at the same time the poop, it comes out as the white part in the acctual dropping.
no ,the same way everything else does
I almost want to say pigs do, but I dont know for sure.
It's called urea, and it comes out through the cloaca
Birds defecate and urinate in their feces, the white you see in bird poop is the urea.
No.They have only one vent where they defecate and urinate and lay eggs. Ghastly I know. As far as I can tell the elimenations happen at the same time. With the exception of the egg part of the deal.
no, the don't actually urinate. Their urine is mixed with their feces and expelled as one lump, justlike all other birds and lizards.
no, they doo-doo and pee-pee together in one blob
like all birds
no its hard to belive but no
If the answer to this question was YES, KFC would go bankrupt!
they urinate through their anus; rectum
No. All birds urine is contained with their feces.its the white part of the poop.
Liquid is heavier that a semi-solid so they are designed to be able to urinate that way in order to fly.
Birds also have hollow bones.
??/ i have no idea.we dont have those in the city..except in the grocery store

Do chickens think rubber humans are funny ?

Answers:
Especially when they hit each other over the heads with them.
Yes, they do!
just HILARIOUS. don't you think that?
YOU are funny. Ever think about stand-up?
What makes us humans different from animals, is our ability to reason. So sadly, I think the chickens would not get the humour in your question as much as we do. :)
and.if people wear fuzzy bunny slippers do bunnies wear fuzzy people slippers?
LOL probably!

Funny question! =)
Do Ducks float little yellow rubber humans in their bathtub?
somthimes, in our class ( im 12) there was this boy who had a rubber chicken, ok that's fine, but then when he squeezed it a white rubber egg would blow up on depend on how much they squeezed, and i dont dont how but they made that chicken into a sick joke( so rubber chickens with out eggs, they're funny)
You betcha
I sure do and I'm sure my chickens do too!

I hope so. Or they're REALLY missin out.
NO!! thats why they have eggs idiot! ya they have sex
yes
That is how you get fertilized eggs and more chicks.

Let me tell you about the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees and the chickens.
no. eggs just magically appear after jack climbs down the beanstalk and plants magic seeds
of course they do..otherwise how would the egg get fertilized to create more chickens! golly you need to think
yes but mostly with roosters
lesbian chickens usually die in having sex and thus scares off others the pecking is believed to be maschoistic and they tend to bleed to death
i hope this helped
Of course they do. Birds have a cloaca and this is where the sexual organs are found.
well no duh how do you think there are chickens in the world!

Think about it..they either have to have sex or they are hermaphrodites.
No they don't . They do make sweet love though.
What do you think all that crowing is about?
Yes they do, but it's fast, very fast.
Yes, but what you're thinking of is probably illegal so you'll just have to keep on trying to get a girl. SORRY!
How else would they make more of them鈾?
No they dont have sex baby chicks just magically appear
dont u have anythink better to do then wonder if chicens have sex??
were els do eggs come from?

Do chickens eat eggs ??

Answers:
Yes they do and I have seen this with my own eyes. Some people that keep chickens often have to clip their pecks with nail clippers to stop them from doing this. I know it sounds cruel but if they do get in the habbit of eating the eggs it has to be done, and no, it doesn't hurt them, they just look a bit silly for a while.
Yes.they will peck away at most things!!
do to the fact they are the kids of the chicken what do u think?
Yes. Many birds will eat eggs if offered to them.
yes they do.
If their diet is imbalanced, yes.

Also, they will eat them if they see the egg is broke and the yolk is running out of it.
they eat anything
yeah
yes they blooming well do. and once they start they will actively seek out eggs. Hard world but if they start that, they end up in the pot as they teach the others to do it too.

You can get "hen goggles" and i am not joking, which will stop them doing it because they can't see properly.
Yes, but not just because they like to peck at stuff. They eat their own eggs because they don't have enough calcium. You need to buy oyster shell calcium from the feed store. Once chickens start to eat their own eggs its very hard to stop them. You won't collect very many eggs when they start to break them open. Also if they don't have adequate water supply they will break open their eggs to drink.
i just asked my neighbour.apparently they love crunching egg shells, as a form of roughage.
Yes.i used to have chickens and when they would lay an egg they would eat it soon after laying it.
My experience is that they do not eat the eggs unless the egg is cracked. In the event that the egg is cracked they go crazy over it like its their last meal.
Yes! Chickens will eat their eggs. I know this because i have over 20 chickens and if i drop an egg, they all gather around it and eat it! They will also eat scrambled eggs and will try to eat anything that moves at least once! Hope this helps.
yeh they will eat anything you throw at them exept there own s**t, i tried!
yea
I've heard of people feeding chickens eggs and even KFC. That particular chicken is not doing so well right now, so I wouldn't take that route.
yep i used to have one and it always ate the eggs
Not really, but they do eat eagg shells, it helps them have stronger eggs.
cooked eggs, yeah. an entire uncracked egg, no. chickens would eat cooked ground chicken breast if you gave it to them.
yes chickens do eat eggs some times if the eggs are left in there for to long or if they are already cracked/have a thin shell. some chickens will just eat them any way.
No they lay them
yes
yes cooked or raw it can be a pain if they peck at their own eggs when you want to eat them for breakfast but is good for them otherwise

do cats smile?

it may be obviously silly but just out of curiosity do cats or dogs smile ? do they ever show that emotion.
Answers:
Yes, they certainly do. Mine finish their breakfasts and then come into the living room where I am reading the morning paper and carefully arrange themselves in half-profile and give the regal pose thing and the smile is very apparent. When you speak to them about it in a soft voice, they get all languid and close and open their eyes slowly to acknowledge that you are admiring them. If you persist in telling them how beautiful or handsome they are they will wait dramatically for a few minutes and then slowly turn their heads away from you in gentle disdain. The whole thing is choreographed by God, Who put a great smile into each and every one of them. Our babies take such good care of us! - Chris.
Well actually, they do have something called the "Cheshire grin". This means that the way their lips turn upwards on the sides of their cheeks makes them look like they are ALWAYS smiling. My sibling's cat has the FUNNIEST expression! He looks like a clown.
But because of the Cheshire grin, one of the only ways to show happiness is by purring.
Depends how many hallucinegenic substances you've taken.

Never seen Alice In Wonderland?
Just the Cheshire cats.
My animals smile

My dog smiles when we are playing and my cat smiles when he purrs

awwe its so cute
No, but then they'll do anything for food!
when cats close both their eyes slowly whilst looking at you then thats their way of smiling or showing happy emotions as cats dont have the facial muscles or ariochre to smile.
by giving different sounds, they show their emotions.
No, but when we watch how you behave we just giggle quietly to ourselves.

Yours truly,
Rosie the Cat
Yes when there getting there picture taken!
yes
yes, when they have chewed your plants or ripped your wallpaper.i have a cat,and he sleeps on my mobile phone so i dnt hear the alarm to get up for work, hes tryin to get me the sack
Yes, I think so.

They can certainly look contented, and I've seen cats smile.
Yes.
Cats smile in much the same way a cartoon character smiles. The corners of their mouths curl upwards and their upper lip and cheeks become puffed.
Dgs smile by pulling their mouths backwards towards their ears and tightenning the skin on their faces. When a dog really smiles, it becomes the most wonderfull big toothy grin. Often this is accompanied by a slightly open mouth and the tip of the tongue protruding.
And sometimes, when they smile, they will pant a little bit too. This is another signal of contentment and happiness, and at times it can look like the dog is laughing.
Who knows. Maybe thats exactly what they're doing?
no
no
they dont when you shoot em
Yes of course they do, my cats love to smile when they are happy. One of my cats Stellar she also drools when she is happy, which is not so cute especially when she is on your knee.

Do Cats Get Bored?

Is so, how can you prevent it?
Answers:
I am sure that they do.and you can get them a bunch of differet toys..there are toys that you can just put on the floor and they will play by themselves or there are toys on a stick that you can play with them with .or if you just don't feel like moving at all while on a chair or a couch.get a lazer pen.ALL animals love them..even a fish does..lmfao!Those are such a blast
Do a tap dance to entertain them? Sing a cute tune?
cats are born bored.
You encourage that in cats, not prevent it.
Yes and one of there games to freak us humans out, it to pretend they are watching something walk across the room. Something that we can't see.
Probably not.attually i dunno.Well i do know that they do move around alot maybe cuz they r bored.lol
Nah, they just go to sleep until it passes. Playing with her %26 giving her treats %26 toys is good, too if you're that worried.
yes
In my house,no!
I think they do. I know when dogs do they get into things like the garbage, why wouldn't it be the same for cats. Try giving it toys to play with.
Buy a mouse and hide it in your cupboard.
well try turning the sweeper on my cat goes running like crazy whenever I do that. Which gives me a rather handy excuse for the place being a mess. ;)
yes, and they need stimulation.i.e., looking outside at something interesting.

and, need cat nip, and little toys to play with just like children and, need to have someone who loves them..
cats are just like humans- they have feelings, therefore- yes, they have feelings. i think to prevent them from being bored you should play with them with a yarn, teach them tricks (make sure they like doing it), and feed them yummy food :). good luck.
yes.get out a ball of yarn and throw it around or get a pen and make it chase it
probaby
I'm not sure really. Maybe sometimes, but i think for the most part they keep themselves busy for the most part. Because they don't stay in one spot for very long. I guess they could just like any other animal or human for that matter. I would just play with them with there toys and pet them. That's all about you can do for a cat. they are pretty independent. Hope i helped!
i know when my cat gets bored he'll start to climb around. just let your cat run around outside for a while whenever they get to looking droopy, they'll be more healthy and happy.

do cats and dogs dream?

if so what do you think they dream about ,////////////////////
Answers:
Yes. The other day our 2 yr. old Yellow Lab was sleeping in her crate and she started whimpering in her sleep. I know she was dreaming so I gently rubbed her to wake her up. I belive she was having a nightmare as she was whimpering.
yes
yes , cats ,dogs, playing, eating, chasing cars, etc.
I'm sure my dog does, she yaps, whines, growls and fidgets in her sleep.
they do dream i have had my cat prr in her sleep and my friends dog yiped and kicked idk what they're dreaming but it has to be close to human dreams
Yes they do. I think they dream about big juicy bones or a nice fresh fish and probably chasing each other round a big garden.
yes i think they do but i don`t know what they dream about
yes they do dream but i dont know wot they dream about
nooooo idea. LOL
yes because u also dream
yes!
i saw my dog dreaming an howling during sleeping time
yes
i think so. my dog, while asleep, he barks often, and it looks like he wants to run.
Yes, probably every living thing dreams once in a while.
It's a mystery to see what they acually dream about~~~
Because sometimes my pets start whimpering or do strange movements!
yeah dogs dream like we do you can even tell when they have bad dreams
My dog dreams about eating my cat, and my cat dreams about eating the dog - they love each other really
i would imagine so as we do so why not them my cat's and dogs are allways twitching in their sleep and little whimpers and so on, but who will ever know unless we had an animals mind and could get into one.
My friends dogs often dream and make funny noises. their paws move as though they are running. I guess they are dreaming of chasing cats, or runing away from something.
Yes they do. Their eyes will jerk when dreaming just like humans.
Nobody know what they dream about .but for shure they do dream.they very inteligent and smart..if they think ..they dream for shure
yes definitely
yes definetely. they dream about their owners watching them while theyre asleep and then posting questions like this on the internet.
my dog dreams, she growls, whines and her feet move as though she is chasing after something
yes they do there roll there eyes when they dream!
Well, something makes my p ussy twitch when she's asleep.
if you have pets like cats and dogs then you can see when they're dreaming, their legs twitch like they're running, their eyes move and even yelp/muffled bark/ growl/suckle in their dreams!
yes
have you noticed dogs bark and whine in there sleep they allso move their legs if they are running in there dreams
Yep. They have enough twitching and sounds. It seems to me that my dogs are dreaming about running. The cats are a little more inscrutable regarding dreams. I've seem both cats and dogs have nightmares, as well.

Currently I have a 100+ lbs. dog who thinks he's a cat because he was smaller than mine when he moved in. Toss him a ball and he'll roll over on his back and juggle it in his paws like a cat playing with a ball of yarn. He's also very determined about sleeping on his back like the cats often sprawl - he actually braces himself up against something so he can achieve and hold the position. This makes him snore on top of whatever weird little dog/cat hybrid dream he is having. So far, I've never seen him have a nightmare, unlike my other dog who was rescued and obviously abused by the previous owner.

I also read somewhere a theory that they are dreaming about their day, reliving certain parts of it. I think that is likely as humans do the same sort of thing.
yes they do dream but cannt say what they dream.

Do catapillers make any noise, why or why not?

RANDOM, BUT IT MAKES ME FEEL SO MUCH SMARTER TO KNOW THESE THINGS.
Answers:
First it's caterpillars, not catapillars, so you don't look uneducated by spelling it wrong.

Secondly, caterpillars do not make noise because they do not even breathe through their mouths. Like all insects, air enters their bodies through a series of small tubules along the sides of their thorax and abdomen.

Some caterpillars will make noise but that sound is made by them scaping their body against an object, usually a leaf to defend their nest if an intruder is near.
yes- but you'd have to be caterpillar-sized to hear it!
They probably do, but are too small to be heard.
no because they dont have a voice
yes they make noise in a quiet enviroment you can hear the chewing on the leaves
Yes, but hummans cant here it, i have kept calter pillers for a school project
Of course they do. Every single footstep makes a sound, but it's way to small a noise for us to pick up. If they fall off of a leaf, they makde a little thud.

I do not believe they make any kind of chirping or whistling noise.
Everything makes "noise" if you mean by movement, because sound can be created from movement. Yeah, you probably couldn't hear it..

Do cat and dogs see black and white or can they see all colors?

And if so, how do we really know?
Answers:
Hi

Actually Both Dogs and Cats see color. They both have rods and cones in the eye just a different balance than we have.

Nobody is certain how well cats and dogs see color or f there are certain colors they can not see.

It is known that it seems to have some variance between each animal just as human eye sight varies a bit.

Also that they lose much of the color perception the darker it is,..so at night a cat can not see color well at all.

In full light or sun both cats and dogs can see colors.
Again its unknown for both animals to what extents or sharpness but they do see color.

http://www.workingdogs.com/vision_coile..

It is very common for pets to have a favorite color as well.

Hope this helps

Wismom
Yes they see black and white
Dogs see some color but cats only b/w. There are these things called rods and cones in our eyes and they determine whether we see in color or not. Dogs have some, but not as many as humans and cats have none.
I don't know for sure but I tend to think they must not see in color. At least My poor doggie can't seem to tell the difference between colors. Sometimes he can't even see white .he runs into the white wall often. Doc says his sight is fine. Go figure.
According to experts, because of the ration of cones and rod in the animals' eyes, they cannot see colors. I guess we can't ever really know for sure why some animals seem to see things better than others though.
dogs r colorblind.
My vet told me that cats see in black and white
Not sure about dogs, but I think they see in black and white as well
Why don't you ask one of them.
From Animal Eye Care:

"There are two types of cells in the retina that receive light: rods and cones. Rods are for sensing motion and work best in low light levels. All mammals, including people, have more rods than cones. Cone cells are adapted for seeing in brighter light and can detect different colors of light. Humans have three types of cones. Dogs have two types of cones. Evidence suggests that the dog has vision similar to a human who is red-green color blind. Cats have three types of cones, like people, but do not have exactly the same color vision as we do. Cats live in a world of fuzzy pastels.

Dogs and cats appear to respond to blue and yellow best, and seem to have more trouble with green and red. What appears red to us is simply dark to the dog and cat, and green light is almost indistinguishable from white (a shade of gray). Colors that would appear very rich to us are more pastel-like to the cat. The cat sees a green, grassy lawn as a whitish lawn, and a green rose-bush as a whitish bush with dark flowers. "

Hope this answers your question!
We are told by people in the know that they only see black and white. They don't have the rods and cones in their eyes that humans do that enables us to see colors. But, you are correct. It is a moot point until we can get inside the head of a dog or a cat.
www.veterinaryvision.com. This Website is very informative on the vision of Cats and Dogs. They can see some colors, but not as defined as we can.

do cameleons make good pets?

are they dificult or easy to take care of?
what do they eat?
how big do they get?

any other info would be apprecieated!!
thanks
Answers:
I'm sure they'd make great pets. I'm sure it would be much like taking care of an iguana. Go to the pet store where you plan on buying your chameleon, and find some books on how to take proper care of one.
no because you'll never be able find them
They aren't very cuddly, but they are interesting to watch, and if released into your home to roam, they will in very short time eliminate any bugs that dare to invade your home. ALL OF THEM!
That's almost a good enough reason to get one right there.
Chameleons are famous for their incredible ability to change color. It can happen for a variety of reasons, environmental conditions such as temperature and lighting, .or even just their mood!

Chameleon lizards consist of 2 genera and about 50 species. They are found in Europe, in Asia through much of India, and in all of Africa, especially Madagascar. They are all arboreal (living in trees) and are insectivores. Some are egglayers and others are livebearers.
See all the types of Chameleons here: Lizard Families, Various Chameleon Species

They have highly ridged, laterally compressed bodies, large heads, and sticky long tongues which they can accurately project at insect prey. The opposing digits of their feet are fused in groups of two or three which they use, along with their prehensile tail to move from branch to branch. They move slowly and methodically.

The chameleons eyes are cone shapes protruding from their head, with a small opening at the end for the pupil. The eyes move independently from each other and rotate in all directions.
Today there are primarily four species of Chameleon commonly available in the United States, including the Panther Chameleon, Veiled Chameleon, Jackson's Chameleon, and Rampholeon Chameleon.
They are very hard to take care of . They have to have the right cage with the right temperature, they are very high maintenance. If you have plenty of time, then you may be ok.

Do bunnies sleep with their eyes closed or open?

I bought my bunny yesterday. sometimes he just sits for hours without moving (his eyes are open) then stretches out. Was he sleeping? do bunnies sleep with their eyes open?
Answers:
closed. but they can go into this state where they go into like a trance. what happens when they do this is that the brain goes into a half sleep state. it's like they are asleep but not asleep. in the wild the advantage of this is that they are not completely asleep so that they can get away from predators in a hurry.
Your bunny is in touch with his metaphysical side, and he is practicing rabbit yoga.
I'd check his pulse just in case.
Bunnies are very aware of his or her surrondings. Mine will sit like that for hours but I know she is awake because I watch her, watch me :)

They sleep with their eyes closed but when they are in the zone it almost looks like they are asleep with their eyes open.
No bunnies sleep with their eyes closed, I wouldn't really worry about it, it's prolly just thinking!
they sleep with their eyes closed, but they relax for hours just sitting there. they are not energetic creatures.
i personaly have had bunnies and no he was not sleeping bunnies sleep with ther eye closed he was just looking to make shur he was safe trust me
It's both. http://www.rabbit.org
I can tell you most assuredly they sleep with their eyes closed.
I used to raise and breed them for competitions.:)
the sleep with their eyes shut but since you just got him and it is a new home he was probably scared to sleep but in a few days he will sleep
Closed, I think. yeah I'm almost certain. yeah closed. final anwser.closed.. Oh, by the way, I have never seen a bunny stretched out, they were always relaxing/ sleeping upright. If it is stretched out, I think it might be ..sick.
They sleep with their eyes closed. Mine will lay her head down and flop her ears to the side when she is sleeping.
Its not unusual for a rabbit to sleep with one eye open. They are prey animals and are always alert for possible predators invading their space. They have a very thick coating over their eye so dust and debris that would bother a human eye will not bother a rabbit as often, thus they also don't blink as often as we do. So don't worry if it looks like she might be sleeping with an eye open, once she's comfy she'll usually close both her eyes and sleep.
Yes, your bunny is probably sleeping. Rabbits are what is called crepuscular, which means they are most active at twilight and dawn and sleep during the day and night. We have 3 bunnies and two always sleep with their eyes open and one has her eyes half closed. I think this is for a couple fo reasons:
rabbits are prey for most other species so they are always on guard. I notice that the one that sleeps with her eyes at half mast does so when her bonded partner is sleeping with his eyes open.
They also have a 3rd eyelid (see http://www.wisconsinhrs.org/articles/wha. which protects the eye and it may look like the eye is open, but the not entirely.

since you are new to bunnies, here are some links that you may find helpful:

Good luck and have fun with your bunny
Bunnies sleep with their eyes closed. But they often go into bunny trances. I think they could probably tell us the meaning to all of life's questions with all that meditating they do. if only.
I have 7 rabbits and they each vary in their little attributes.
My french lops tend to sleep with their eyes open whereas my dwarf lops close theirs.
%26 my continental giant is either or! My rabbits also tend to sleep upside down and they look dead so much so that i have to shout their names to wake them
They sleep with their eyes closed but sometimes during the day they just lay there with their eyes open where they are just daydreaming and relaxing!
No, bunnies sleep with their eyes open. When mine was a baby, i would hold her in my arms and she would fall asleep, and of course her eyes were closed. Then as for the staying still for hours, mine does that too.

Do bunnies make a sound?

yes my bunnys grunt when cross its so funny
only when theyre humping
i have 6 rabbits and 3 bunnies. the rabbits grunt sometimes but the bunnies usually don't make a sound, except for squeaks.
Yes, especially when they scream.
mine never has.
good question, u should go to a rabbit farm and experiment
i've heard grunts from a bunny i used to have and unfortunately, I've heard them scream, and that's an awful sound!
don't really know, never really heard them make any loud sound.
I do know that they squeal %26 scream when in pain. It's freaky sounding, and it attracts coyotes!
my nephews bunny hardly ever made noises but he did grunt a little though it wasn't loud
They grunt and squeal. Will make a sound like teeth chattering when they feel threatened. Reasonably quiet, but when they burrows, it's noisy.
Rabbits make two vocal sounds. One is a grunt. They will make a grunt when they are mad or cross. The males will also make a grunt after they have finished breeding a female. The other vocal sound a rabbit makes is a high pitched squeal when they are in pain or very scared. Sometimes they will vary the squeal by opening and closing their mouth as they squeal. A third sound they make is a thumping sound with their feet when they are scared, mad, just finished sex, or feeling good. A rabbit will make a rattling chest sound when they have a breathing problem such as a cold or pneumonia.

Do bunnies live in apartments?

Do Bunnies live in aparttments? What do they eat? How will we take care of them?
Answers:
A bunny will do well in an apartment, if you give it plenty of attention.. Ours (Dutch Dwarf) was trained to walk on a leash with a harness, never a collar..We would take it to the school yard after school, so it could play in the grass on a long leash..It would walk about 5 blocks to the school, and enjoy it..They will leave droppings on the floor, but they sweep up easily..they pee in a litter box..You have to keep it clean, or it will smell like urine..We had one Dutchie that thought he was a dog, and would bark..kinda "Woof!" and wrestle, and play hiding games..those Dutch bunnies are so smart! I hear the Tans are too..
yep but they must live in a cage
well they can live in an apartment in a cage though. they eat all kinds of vegetables like carrots, salad and they even eat the rinds of apples. but also you can give them rabbit food. well you should also clean the cage once a week, in the summertime maybe 2 a week, except the hay is not too full and doesnt stink. and you should let your bunny "walk" around for awhile. oh and dont get a small cage, they need enduringness alot.
Wild bunnies don't neseccarily like living in apartments. They eat stuff like seeds, alfalfa, carrots etc. You take care of a bunny by giving it water, food, etc. Wild bunnies don't like being taken care of. - Rate mine best answer!
You can buy a book on the subject. Or go to www.rabbit.org. They'll help you out.
Yes, but it's best to have a yard for them to play in. They like to have space. Plus they can be very smelly.
Buns can live in apartments, mine do! You should read the book The House Rabbit Hanbook and go to these websites.
You can litter box train them and let them run around in the house!
Visit these websites: www.rabbitwelfare.co.uk www.rabbit.org and google The House Rabbit Society for good informative advice. This book is good too 'The Rabbit Whisperer' by Ingrid Tarrant.
They eat pellets i reccomend Burgess Super rabbit Excel and fresh dry hay should always be available as should water, you should give them some fresh veg too; dark leaf cabbage, carrots, carrot tops, broccoli. NEVER give your rabbit lettuce it is bad for their sensitive digestive systems. If you introducea new food or different brand of pellet you should introduce it a bit at a time over a 10 day period so they you dont upset their tummies. Give your rabbits lots of attention, excercise, toys to play with such as twig and wicker balls, tiolet rolls filled with grass or hay, wooden toys are good because they like to throw them about and they chew then to keep their teeth healthy. Hiding a carrot i a wooden toy makes eating fun for them. Buy a good book or visit the websites i suggested before you buy them so you are prepared. rabbits are social animals and need other rabbits to keep them company.

Do bugs have brains?

Answers:
i'd say some do and some don't bigger 1s yes smaller 1s no because there heads are so small and thats y they fly into you because they don't have a brain
Of course bugs have brains. They are really small though but they are there.
it seems to be more powerful than human brains at times!
of course!
Yes, indeed they do. Not much brains, but still there.

What's cool though is colony/hive insects like ants, bees and termites. They band together and create this collective consciousness. Not unlike a living creature that is essentially a swarm of living individual cells that work in unison, a colony of insects can be considered a "single" lifeform. Creepy!
Yes. Extremely tiny, but it's there. Like some people I know. :P

Do bubblebees sting, bite, or both?

Answers:
The sting is their bite.

Bumblebees can do both but they are most likely to sting, it is yellow jackets that bite most of the time, and they can sting you more than once.

they sting
they don't sting, not sure if they bite
sting-OUCH
do you mean bumblebee??
Sting. ouch
normally bubblebees dont bite, or sting, but bumblebees usually dont sting or bite, on regular bees, hornets, wasps, yellow jackets sting, mosquitos bite
They sting and when you are stung by a bubblebee you know it , it hurts like hell.
if you mean bumblebees, they aren't the ones that usually sting.
it's the regular bees, hornets, wasps, ect. that sting.
and i don't think that any kind of bee bites.
They sting, but they kind of stab you with the needle like stinger on the end of their bums.
Bubble-bees don't sting or bite - they pop, just like real bubbles.
If you mean Bumblebees - big round ones - no they don't sting or bite either. It is the ordinary honeybee, wasps or yellow-jackets that you have to watch out for. They mostly sting - and it really hurts.
nether
I found these answers for you:
"Bumblebees can sting, at least the queens and workers can, and their sting is not barbed like that of the honeybee, so they can sting more than once."

"Can a bumblebee bite through skin?
No. The bumblebee's jaws are just not strong enough. They cannot bite or gnaw through wood either."
sting..

do breeder need a permit to sell his hamster to others?

Answers:
no as far as i am aware there is no permit for breeding hamsters although if your buying a breeding pair you should find out how old they are as the older they are the bigger the risk of still births and defects within any subsequent litter
hahaha
of course they do or the hamster police will arrest them
By my house you can take your extra hamsters to the petshop and they will buy them.So No you don't need a permit.
lol
Some how i dont think hamsters classify as breedable considering the fact that they are rodents and would reproduce whether you bread them or not.
no just the hamsters.////////////////////
no
no, but you have to register it and get a number.

Yes, and where I live we have brown widow spiders, too. My garage is full of both kinds, it really skeeves me out, mon!
wow you're brave.black widow spiders scare the s out of me
They make me VERY nervous because I know their bite can make me much more than nervous - dangerously sick!

I am so glad you were not bitten but please, please do not do this again. Your life is too precious. Picking up a black widow spider is like playing Russian roulette (putting one bullet in a gun's chamber, spinning the cylinder and firing the gun at your head.)
you betcha!! yikes!~~~~~~~~~~
No. I am immortal. I have inside me blood of kings.
Black spida? Wheya? AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH..
I love black widow spiders in fact i found one the size of a trantula few weeks back and I was playin with it crawled around on my hand and stuff but as long as u don't frighten it it won't bite u that goes for anything. people think everything is dangerous black widows, rattlesnakes, bears, etc. but thier only dangerous when ya scare, spook, frighten em or if thier really hungry!
Nah..Never found one yet that lived through a size 10 stompin.
black widow spiders don't make me nervous
I've been bit by a lot of spiders: worst reaction I had was heart rate was very fast, hives all over, and I thought I was going to pass out. "The Aggressive Spider" each time the reaction I get is worse. Personally I don't want to be around any spiders.
Oh yes, all spiders make me nervous.
I hate them all.
Black Widow and the Brown Recluse spiders I hate the most.
I would rather kill them then catch them and put them outside.
OMG!! You make my skin crawl! I've been terrified of Black Widows ever since a bad experience as a child. However, several years ago I told myself I wasn't going gto get that freaked out over them any more and so far I'm cool. BUT! I'd never risk getting bitten. You're asking for major medical trouble.
Look i wont beat round the bush but i dont believe you, black widow are shy spiders and to catch one out and about and to pick it up.
Not after they've been liberally doused with strong insecticide and then crushed for good measure.

Acracnophobic.

Do black crikets normally eat other bugs?

I recently saw a cricket carrying a roach off and today I saw one eat a spider. Does this normally happen? I've always wondered what they ate. Thanks! :D
Answers:
Crickets often eat other insects, and will cannibalize each other. Their main diet consists of vegetable matter. They have also been known to chew on dead non-insect aninals. They eat dead things for extra nutrition.
Crickets will eat others and each other.
I thought if I put a couple crickets in with my tarantula that he would have food for a while. The crickets ate my spiders leg off and it died! Bad bad lesson for me!
Those are mean little buggers!
Great answers! I never knew that! We used to keep them as pets.we'd make lego houses for them, and fill it with toilet paper for them to sleep on. They ate the toilet paper!

Cricket no make good house pet.

Do black bear hamsters.?

hello, do syrian black bear hamsters really hypernate? i read it somwhere, but is it true??

thanks! (i have a syrian black bear hamster)
Answers:
They have the ability to hibernate and that is what they would do in the wild, but when they are in captivity there's no need, so they don't. You shouldn't try to induce them to hibernate in captivity - hibernation is something animals do out of the necessity to survive, not because it's ideal.

However. if you watch hamsters alot, you'll notice certain behaviours that are "left over" from their hibernation days. For example. I always thought it was really cute and funny when my hamsters would roll over in their beds, pick up a bit of food and start eating it with their eyes closed. kinda like eating in their sleep.
from my understanding, all hampsters can but it's not something they have done naturally for years do to the fact that they are bread in captivity. If you keep your house at a decent temp they shouldn't. I also wouldn't try to get them to, like i said it isn't somthing that they have done for generations. The are nocturnal though so they will sleep all day and be alert all night. I hope this answers you question.

Do Bipolar people have Bipolar pets?

It would make sense, if you think about it
Answers:
I don’t think it’s been studied but I have heard people who work with animal behavior say that it’s possible for the dog to get symptoms from the owner’s behavior. Not developing the disease however. Like that guy, Caesar Millan the so-called “Dog Whisperer” says that dogs do have a tendency to “pick up on the energy” of their owner. He was helping a woman who was very disorganized, chaotic, frenzied person that was always in some kind of crisis with her friends, family, job, etc. Millan didn’t start on the dog until the woman got her act calmer. Before the dog will tended to be very hyper and high strung but as the owner get his/her act together, was less reactionary to the problems of her life and was able to stop, breathe and reflect more the dog started to calm down more also. Then Millan started to retrain the dog. If this stuff is true and it seems to be as it makes sense then a person who is depressed one hour and manic the next (classic bipolar symptoms) would have an affect on his/her dog. Would the dog develop the disease/disorder full blown? I doubt it as nothing has ever suggested this possibility. But would the dog develop similar symptoms. I think yes. I think the dog would get some of the symptoms of bipolar (like depression for example)
no, bi polar is something you're born with
well atleast i was
I don't think animals can get Bipolar disorder.
That would be one screwed up household!
All pets a rapid cycle bi polar. Think about it. Cats sit around ALL day ignoring you, hating life. Then BANG 2 AM they go Kitty Insane. (Told you I d use it.) Get some Depakote, spike thier cat nip and try to get on the same cycle. If you can't beat em.
No. My dog keeps me sane.
No. Pets are smarter than that.
Yes, when you are diagnosed with bipolar disorder you get a free pet that is also bipolar. Only problem is that its a mail order rebate and it takes the animal 6-8 weeks to get there.
Have you ever met a bipolar person? They are just like you if not smarter. So this a very stupid question, so I hope if there is bipolar dogs you get bit by one! STUPID
No it really doesn't make sense mathematically. Has this been bugging you?

The odds of a chemically unbalanced person locating a chemically unbalanced animal.well.let's just say you'd be better odds to buy a lotto ticket.

Do bees make good pets?

Answers:
LOL Nooooo.

Maybe fire ants would be a better choice?
No, they are just a wee bit too hard to pet :-)
if u know how to care for them and tame them just make sure u have experience then yes and don't die from it
oh yeaaahh.. the only difficulty i found is when i have to take them out to pee.the leash is always not small enough.
Yes, yes they. Here's a fun game to play with your bees: Get 40 of them and put them in a jar. Shake the jar as furiously as you can, then open the lid. Make sure you're in a tiny room so they don't escape, and wear as little clothing as possible. Enjoy, Buddy!
They make great pets they are hard to housebreak though,
I don't think so. I can't get rid of the ones I got and I got bit today. I've been sucking them up with the vacuum. I have one with a clear container case so after they've been sucked up I can see them crawling around in the dirt.

On a side note: Isn't it wierd how we look the same? (emoticons)
you have to buy very tiny leaches
Only for an apiarist..
There bees how colud they make a pet?
Look on google for bee keepers and find some one to talk to.
Insects aren't especially known for their compatibility with humans as companions. Bees are too "wild", if you will - too controlled by instinct to be really domesticated. Think about how big their brain is. Hardly larger than a pin head, and it only has room for the bee's natural instinct. An alternative to this would be to take up beekeeping - with training and patience, it can be a rewarding hobby.

Yes. When they are sniffing around a flower, and not moving, they fart to propel themselves forward.
no cause they are not humans?!
don't think so!
Yes they do, if you smell it you will get a buzz lol
What the hell, they don't have the same internal organs as mammals, so no.

Do bees eat their own?

I was at the park today and saw three small bees on top of a very large bee and it looked like the little bees were eating it! is this possible?
Answers:
If it was a different species or from a different hive they were attacking it.
nope it was a bee orgy
lol..no they were probaly making out if they can..or having a little kinkyness.lol
yeah. they do but only if its dead first. like they wouldnt go up attack it and kill it. but if they found a dead one, sure why not!
No they do not eat their own although if the bee was from another hive that might explain the odd behavior. (i work with a man who raises bees.)
there are different species of bees. most of them will eat pollen and honey they make, but if they feel threatened the will attack by pack (more than one bee) but they just kill them not eat them. Hornets are the worse, they will just catch bees and eat them.

Do beavers travel in packs or herds or what?!?

me and my friend had a discussion today.do you say a herd of beavers? or a pack of beavers? or a swarm of beavers? lol HELP! :S
Answers:
Beavers usually live in family groups. As many as 12 beavers may make up a family, but generally there are 6 or fewer. The group includes the adult male and female, the young born the year before, and the newborn
I don't believe beavers travel. They dwell, and I think they live in actual families. They are families of Beavers that dwell. Yeah that's right.
well, useually beavers travell alone because they are solitary animals unless its breeding season.
i would definitely say they travel in a vanpool.

lazy dam beavers.
I thought beavers traveled in panties! And yes, I've heard of beavers!
Because of the female connotation, I'd say beavers with mutual travel plans are members of a bevy.
A Family-Beavers a a strong family unit, raising thier young together..and staying together until the young grow up and move out:)
Go to the mall, that's where they hang out, and ask them what they call their group.

Do bears s**t in the woods?

Yes, but if no one's there to hear them, they don't make a sound.
yes and i stepped in it
Probably.
I would assume so.
where else do you think they do it
noooo.they go in a toilet..then after that..they take a shower.and llamas are gay..did u know that?
No -- they go to Denny's and ask to use the bathroom.
Yeah and the bear asks a rabbit if the poo he does sticks to his fur

"no" says the rabbit

so the bear picks up said rabbit and wipes his ar*e on him
I'm a bear and i love shitting in the woods
The Polar Bear doesn't..

Do bears get pressure sores when they hibernate?

Do bears get pressure sores when they hibernate? If not, why not?
Answers:
Yes. But,Oil Of Olay soothes the sores if applied.
yes , why yes? dont know
no because there is a layer of fat under their skin that acts as a cusion . just like sleeping on a matress.
lol, your funny.
no.cause they have lots of fur that cushions them.
nope
Hmm..I dont know, probably
Bears are adapted to that weather, therefore they have a fat layer under their skin, just like whales, and the fur protects the direct contact to the harsh environment.
I think that they do periodically roll over in their dens to prevent this.
Bears that take naps roll over in their sleep. Hibernating bears are only sleeping so therefore they are capable of rolling over during hibernation season without getting pressure sores.

Do baby squirrels carry any diseases of any particular concern?

I captured a baby squirrel that was injured (brain injury most likely) and am going to turn it into a wildlife rehab center in the morning - he seems to be calmed by petting with a paper towel. Is there any harm to myself from touching it with my bare hands to pet it? I'm pretty sure they don't carry any diseases of any concern as long as I don't like, stick my fingers in my mouth or anything but if anyone knows anything about this sort of thing let me know :)
Answers:
Squirrels do NOT carry rabies, nor does any other rodent, including rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, or guinea pigs, nor do rabbits, even though those are not considered rodents. (The booklet put out by The Health Department stating this also says that no post-exposure shots are ever necessary after having been bitten, even though a lot of unknowing people do like to perpetuate this myth. -- Bitty baby squirrels don't bite anyway.)
Squirrels are virtually disease-free and are very clean little animals (though they do make big messes when they are older, IF they are healthy). They do NOT carry diseases transmissible to humans. They can get abscesses in 10 days to 2 weeks from biting each other but do NOT infect people when bites are sustained from mishandling the older babies or adults.

Cats do NOT infect squirrels, either, so no antibiotic is EVER necessary if a cat finds one, baby or adult, and brings it home. Sometimes the small scrapes or scratches found on babies are caused by his fall from the tree and what twigs he hit on the way down, not necessarily by the cat.
They can carry rabies, but they are not common carriers. Fleas on squirrels can carry the plauge..but if there was an outbreak in your area.believe me..you would know about it. As long as you did not get bitten.you should be fine.

==============================.
No. Squirrels are not a primary threat of transfer of rabies, raccoons and
skunks are the most common carriers, but any mammal can carry rabies,
squirrels can and will bite people, so there is a danger, even if perhaps
smaller than with other animals.

J. Elliott

Above is from "Ask a Scientist".which states that ANY mammal can carry rabies..in response to the above answer.
Squirrels are rodents and can carry rabies. If your skin is broken by a tooth or claw there is a reasonlably high chance it will get infected. Gloves, the thicker the better, would probably be best for handling it.
I've raised baby squirrels, and turning them into a wildlife rehab center has to be done, but I never caught anything, nor did my cats (blondemom is dead-on). Love the little critters.
There are many diseases they could have, just be careful of being bit and keep your hands washed.

Give him some blankets, paper towles,or towls, anything he can burrow in, and put a light on him that gives off heat, to help keep him warm.
Don't give him anything to eat or drink for 24 hrs. When they are stressed their bodies need time to relax and recuperate, that's why you wait 24 hrs. After 24 hrs. give him some gateraide(I'm serious- a wildlife rescue told me to do this with an injured baby squirrel.). You can use a dropper or an animal baby bottle if it is big enough(you can find these at any petstore or even walmart). Be ready, it doesn't take gateraide long to work. He will get very frisky quickly. Good luck with him.
Their bites can hurt and can become infected, but they don't carry any diseases you need to worry about. They do have fleas, which can spread to your pets. They can become infected from a cat bite.and need antibiotics. I've seen it plenty of times. Keep him warm and get him to rehab asap.

do baby ferrets bit?

Answers:
Anything with a mouth can bite. Ferrets vary on biting. Some will bite a lot and some may bite very little. I worked in petco and we had a ferret that would never bite. It all depends on the animal and how it is treated.
Do they bite? Yes, everything with a mouth can and usually does bite if they feel threatened.
yes, everything dats lives and poop will bite uu!lol
Oh yeah! And hard!
Ferrets bite period. Doesn't matter if they're babies or full grown adults. When they play, they nip. The only way I have found to discourage the nipping is to flick the nose and say no bite when they do it. Enough times, and they will eventually get the message. No one likes to get their nose flicked. If the ferret hasn't been trained yet, I would keep it away from your nose and ears as well as anything they could grab hold of.learned that one the hard way when I worked for a pet supply warehouse and had to deal with 20-30 ferrets each week. Fortunately, my ear healed quickly, it wasn't a bad bite, just painful.

I don't want to discourage you from getting one, they are adorable pets, and the comic relief you get from watching them play is more than worth the price of a band-aid! Had three myself at one time, they were great pets.
Yes. And if you antagonize them, they'll bite pretty hard. I've been bitten by my baby ferret, and it was only playing. Be careful.
I agree with Katie !

I have two ferrets and they didn't bite when they
were young kits and they do not bite now.
They have been raised with love and a
gentle hand.

Ferrets will nip when playing but that is not a bite,
when ever something bites you, believe me you
know.
All ferrets bite until you teach them not to. They are just like kids no pun intended I just bop mine on the nose lightly and tell her no.
Yes, they do. And baby ferrets have sharp, sharp teeth!

The best way to stop biting is to scruff the ferret like it's mom would, and let it sit and think about why it's being scruffed. They hate not being able to go where they want to!

Never hit or flick the ferret. I run a ferret shelter. Ferrets become nasty when you do that.

do anything eat skunk?

Answers:
And if they do, how many mintos do they need to refresh thieir breath ?
They use to on the Beverly Hillbilly's.grannie's special recipe for road kill..gosh I miss that show
Most predators are deterred from preying on skunks, because of the skunk's obvious defense mechanism. However, if an individual is persistant enough, it will capture and consume a skunk. (I personally know a man who tried it and he said the meat wasn't that good). After a skunk sprays, it needs time to rebuild its stinky reserves, so it is temporarily vulnerable to attack.

Also, skunks are vulnerable to road mortality and rabies. It is always wise to keep pets and yourself away from wild skunks because they are highly susceptible to rabies in parts of the U.S.

If you have a skunk problem, contact a licensed animal control officer.

do anything eat bees?

Answers:
There are quite a few animals that eat bees.

Wasps will kill and eat them on occasion.

Bee eaters, which are various species of birds that live in Africa and Eurasia, often hunt and kill bees. Most are in the species Meriops (here's a link to some of the info about them on line.
http://montereybay.com/creagrus/bee-eate.

Spiders, especially some of the crab spiders which often hunt by sitting in flowers, will catch and kill them.

There are many other animals that will eat them as well and I'm not even including the ones that will tear open hives and go for the young bees (larva) and honey.
My dog does! Every time he regrets it but forgets and does it again!!
Yes, my cat Rosie. She eats wasps too (and spiders, daddy long legs and flies). Amazingly she never seems to get stung! Crazy cat.

do any of you wiccans ask dragons to help you in you magickal workings?

I've been told the dragons are bad and to stay away from them but i love dragons their my favorite mythical creature. they've help my in my workings. i was just wondering?
Answers:
Dragons can be dangerous and difficult to mannage but if you've worked with them before, you shouldn't have much trouble. I personally prefer pheonixes over dragons durring my workings but I am facinated by the power dragons weild. You also might look at your familiar and see if it's compatable with dragons (fire/air), if so, then you should have no trouble but if your familiar is a water/earth being then you won't be able to control the power durring a big working.
Have you taken your meds today?
Dragons have no place in wicca. they are mythical and wicca is about nature.
dragons are awesome and hold magnitudes of power. remember though their strength is enormous and cannot be callled via the creative thought of the population anymore due to them being killed in th1500's and ,cause media says they're fake and the human mind follows.
A dragon can be called via concentrated mindset or if capable a parralel dimension.
dragons are thought to be intelligent beings that can travel multi dimensionally.

Call only for a just cause i should think
There is a lot of great information on the Internet about Wicca, my beliefs of Wicca is about peace and harmony it is a very balanced way of thinking that promotes one with all kind. If dragons do this for you then that is fine. There are no real fixed rules of Wicca, just know what you do is returned trice. I am a self practised Wicca. and I enjoy the peace I receive from it, i enjoy the fact that I will once again be joined with those I love, not just from this life, but all parts of life prior to this one. My brain and body are just my physical being, but my soul, my inner voice from me and my god and goddesses lead me through many things, also through meditation, I can find myself learning a great deal more about my physical being and trying to become one with my soul and here is also where I learn mostly about the afterlife and a lot of other great information.
WHERE DID YOU LEARN YOUR MAGICAL WORKING'S, DUNGINS AND DRAGON'S?
