Can you kill a horse with a hammer?

I don't have a gun. Our old horse has to go and all I have is a hammer. What's the best angle of attack?
Answers:
First.let me express my sympathy to you. The decision to put a loved animal down is never an easy one.

I'm going to assume that you are looking for an inexpensive way to end your animals suffering. Many people here seem to think you are some sicko but I'm giving you the benefit of a doubt.

I do think however that you should contact a vet. Explain your situation, he or she may be able to help you out. Maybe there is even a way to donate the animal to a vet school where it could be euthanized then used as a specimen for students to study! That would be a lovely way for your horses death to help other horses get good medical care.

Call around and ask for help. If one vet turns you down try another.

Again, my sincere sympathy to you during this difficult time.
i hope you arent serious
i would just ask a vet or if you want ro use a hammer i don't know how
If you are serious, you are also sick
please give it away to someone who wants it. i realllyyy hope your not serious and if you are. choose another path rather than killing it.
OMG THAT IS SO WRONG AND JUST PUT IT TO SLEEP DONT BEAT IT TO DEATH WHAT IF YOU WERE THAT HORSE?

: (
I hope u are not serious. Call a vet and have him put down. Or give him to someone who can care for him. get real if you love your horse u know what your asking is not humane
Are you for real?
OMG!just put it to sleep for god's sake.
A hammer!! Thats just too violent.it would cause the horse pain! he's old and should just die of old age.
call the spca or your local law enforcement.they even have guns..
You should have a vet do it - for legal and moral reasons. If you decide to do it with a hammer, you should try it on yourself first to make sure you can hit the right spot.
To answer you question .NO.
And do as the other have suggested !!
Takes a well placed shot in either one of two places to kill a horse, WITHOUT it suffering!.
Call a Vet, or find someone who is willing to care for an older horse, we have one that is now 27.
anything you do you will have to live with the memory for the rest of your life..
Try it in the rectum, nevermind the hoofs.
Meet me around the back of the barn and I'll show you.
Give the horse to a sanctuary.
yes and up to the nose(on the nose)
If you do that, it could qualify as animal abuse/neglect. BIG LEGAL issues there. besides, if you actually had a horse, you should know that no horse is going to stand for someone swing an object towards their head.
