do animals have the right hand left hand thing??

PLS TELL ME, r tigers left/right handed and wot about others?
Answers:
Our cat opens the door with his left paw
no they have paws!
maybe some monkeys can have or others that use "hands", but I strongely believe that tigers (or such) don't have..
animals dont have hands so no
yeah i think they do my cat is right handed

but my mums dog is left handed as when ever you ask her for her paw she always puts her left paw up first but if you ask her for her right paw you can tell she is thinking about it before she does it
oh, well, if it was left handed, what would it use it for? it usually just uses the next or closest avalable paw to do what ever it does, i font think my little baxter is either, and i watch him every day, but like i said, if it was left/right handed, how woult we know? the answer, make a yahoo question!
one of my cats always used to eat with his right paw
Yes and birds too, that is why it is better to eat the left leg drumstick, as the right one is overdeveloped from scratching at the ground, therefore it is more tender.
I have seen a parrot and a monkey ride a bike, so i would say they know how to steer. And most animals have a sense of direction.

But since they dont need to write or need to do other tasks similar we cant say for certain. But i would say that apes do have a preference to use one arm rather than the other, because it is a genetic characteristics of humans to be right/left handed.

Tigers. i have no idea
Yes I suppose they do. For instance if a tiger injures one paw then he'll have to use the other
Yeah they do! Lol Horses in particular, most of them are left handed. Most perfer to Canter with their left leg leading, or when going around anti-clockwise. i've only riden a few horse who perfer to canter clockwise. on their right. So yeah I suppose tigers and other animals have that as well!
Wow, that's a good question!

My old dog knew the difference between right and left, she would hear "shake a paw" and offer her right and then when commanded "other paw" would offer her left and then when hearing "high five" would sit up and offer both, raised up high.

My cat bats around a toy mouse with both paws equally and when she scratches, both are in motion equally.
House cats have a paw preference which you can test by rolling a ball at them and seeing which paw they put out most of the time to bat at it. Most cats are like mine - left pawed. I don't know about any other kind of cat like a tiger. All of the family Felidae are similar so I would guess Tigers have a paw preferance. I would not throw things at Tigers to find out. Perhaps call the curator of large mammals at the zoo if you really must know.
I am sure they do because my cat is left-pawed!
Well, horsesusually have a dominate side that they preferr, but riders strive to make them develope both sides evenly.
Barrel horses generally run better to the right or left
Yes they do. Even animals that have paws.
All animals have a gait called 'canter' and when an animal canters it leads either with the left or right foot.
Horses can learn to canter leading with either leg, but always keep their natural preference for one or the other the same as we do.
absolutely! All animals favour one side (paw), you'll notice if you watch animals on a hunt that they always jump and have the same "leg" that lashes out! With horses it's even clearer as we ride them, you can imideatly feel which side the horse is more comfortable in. In the wild, zebra's galop away always with the same leg first, check it out at ngc!
horses often have a diagonal (leg) they prefer to lead on

  1. well, my dog is right handed and my cat is right handed as well. I am doing a science experiment on this and yes, animals do have a left or right that they use the most.
