I have a pet mouse and I want to clean him cause he's really starting to stink lol but is it a good idea? and if so how should I go about doing it? Or is there something that I would be able to buy to bathe him instead of using water.
Answers:
Im not sure about a mouse, but we have a hamster and we 'bathe' him in this stuff called chinchilla dust. (we were told not to use water because it strips their natural oils and can kill them) Its a powder that they roll around in and it takes away that funky smell. You can buy it at most pet supply stores, its about 6.00. Hope this helps.
yes!
mice smell and there is nothing you can do,if you wet it ,it will die of shock
Mice are pretty clean if their cage and bedding is kept clean, because they groom themselves like cats. But rather than bathing him in water you could try those pet bath wipes that you can buy at a pet store.
It's not a good idea to give a mouse a bath. The best thing for you to do is clean it's cage thoroughly, clean out all the old bedding and wash the cage, then put all clean bedding and cover in for him.
take a wet sponge and scrub him with it then dry him up just don't put to much water on it !!AND CAREFULL IF YOU DROWN THE POOR THING !!
ask the vet
Clean the cage, the bedding (and keep it clean..there is no reason for a mouse to stink unless you are making it lie in its own wastes), and for an immediate fix, rub it with a Bounty sheet. It will smell better immediately, but the mouse will not be to keen on the smell, will set about to clean itself immediately. Good luck
only once, and you might as well do that in the toilet so you can flush his poor drowned body .
not litterally. you can put a little dish of water in with it but leave the cleaning to the mouse.
yes
i don't know. i give my pet rats a bath. i just fill the tub of with a little bit of water. get them wet, put shampoo on and rinse them off, but it may be more difficult with pet mice
