It is not too cold for him. I live in Michigan and my rabbits live out in hutches the year around. Except for little bunnies that doesn't have much hair yet, more rabbits die from the heat then from the cold.
Your rabbit needs to be protected from wind or drafts, also rain or dampness. Cages that are all wire are fine in a garage. and I lay a small board in the cage so they can rest on it. You might also want to get a small house or nest box to add to the back of your wire cage. The rabbit can go into it and use it's own body heat to warm up the box.
In the summer, if you take your rabbit outside, lay something on top of the cage to keep the rain and sun off from it. Never place you cage in direct sunlight, because the heat can kill it. Under a tree or on the north side of a building would be great.
Yes absolutely. The rabbit will be fine in temperatures from 10F to 90F.
nope its not too cold, i have had my rabbit in Michigan in my barn for the past 12 years and he's still goin, and he stays out there all winter too. they will grow thicker/warmer fur for when it grows colder.
As long as your rabbit has shelter on 4 sides and wire cage with hay he will be fine. Put plywood half way across the front all the way along both sides and all across the back and across the top cover the rest with mesh wire. The part of the cage that has wood on all sides put hay in there so that he does not get a draft get sick and die. You may want to consult your hardware store on how to build one.
As long as your rabbit has a draft free shelter with hay to snuggle in for warmth, he will be fine in those temps. I would say that in California, the greatest risk would be if the temperature goes really high in the summer. Heatstroke can be a serious problem for rabbits.
if you do, make sure you cover the cage in a warm blanket. otherwise, it could get sick.
when i was about 3rd grade we had a rabbit who lived in the garage in a wire cage, no drafts.it wasn't that cold out, he froze to death, literally
That's fine for most rabbits, However dwarf rabbits can not handle cold. I live in New England and what I think is cold is probably very diffrent than what you think.

As long as your bunny has plenty of hay he should be fine.

I have 5 rabbits all together.
1 of them is a dwarf he lives inside most of the year.
the other 4 live outside in hutches. I bring them in when it gets really cold.
Yeah, rabbits prefer the cooler temps. Just not too cold. Make sure it has plenty of bedding and maybe a blanket.
would you want to live in a semi cold place ? think about it .
Hi keeping small rodents in a garage is no always the best of ideas as many have died from the car fumes in a garage.they are best keeped in a garden shed that is better than feeding them outside in the winter %26 much drier %26 warmer for the rabbit providing that it has enough hay/straw for bedding at all times.

i would say yes as long as you have hay or something so that they can nuzzel in if they want my sister in law has her mommy rabbits an 4 babies in a hutch in her garage if its extremely cold she does put a space heater out there for them but not blowing directly on them she likes them in the garage she feels they are safer no animals can get to them an they are out of the real hot, rainy snow wind etc they are all doing just fine an have been in there for at least 6-7 months good luck one other thing if the cage is big enough an you dont have anything for housing what we did with all our cages was went to wal mart or any store like it an bought plastic totes leave the lid on an cut a square for them to hop in an out of then you got a cheap house for them an they have quiet alone time when needed good luck
